• Admission Requirements for Masters in Early Childhood Education

Applicants are required to possess a minimum five (5) O’ level credits passes including mathematics and English language in addition to any of the following:

  1. Possession of first or second class honours degree in Early Childhood Education from University of Benin or any other university approved  by the Senate of University of Benin
  2. Any Bachelor’s degree not below third class from a recognized University in addition to a Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education (PGECE)   
  3. Possession of third class honours degree in Early Childhood Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) 
  4. Higher National Diploma (H.N.D) with upper credit in addition to a Postgraduate Diploma in Technical Education or Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
  5. Any other qualifications acceptable to the Senate of the University of Benin

Programme Duration

The M.Ed. (full-time) programme shall run for a minimum of twelve (12) calendar months and a maximum of twenty four (24) calendar months.

6.        Graduation Requirements

To graduate, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Pass all the required core courses offered in both semesters;
  • Pass one course respectively from the electives in both semesters.
  • Successfully complete and defend the written research project.
  • Earn at least a total of 40 credits.
